Slovenia gets first LNG filling station - Offshore EnergySlovenian company Energetika Ljubljana said it had opened the country’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling station for trucks as part of a plant to reduce carbon emissions. The construction of the LNG station located in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, is a Slovenian-Spanish partnership project involving companies Enos, Energetika Ljubljana and HAM Criogénica.Energetika Ljubljana adds waste heat from Lek to district Energetika Ljubljana said the project reduces CO2 emissions by 1,000 tons per year on saved fuel. The capital city of Slovenia is benefiting from a new circular economy project. Energetika Ljubljana is taking the surplus steam condensate from the manufacturing process in Lek and using it in its district heating system.

Slovenia: Energetika Ljubljana Uses Excess Heat From Lek Excess heat in the form of steam condensate that Lek, which is part of Novartis, can no longer use in its processes, but which still retains a high temperature, is now being piped to Slovenian Energetika Ljubljana and fed into the district heating system. The amount of heat used in this way is enough to heat or provide sanitary hot water for roughly 300 homes, said Lek in a press release.
